The Workplace Equality (WE) Awareness Ribbon Campaign

Treat Everyone the Same Regardless of Differences

About the WE Ribbon Campaign

The Workplace Equality (WE) Awareness Ribbon Campaign was created by founding partners Pat Williams a retired Stationary Operating Engineer in the U.S.A and Jamie McMillan a Journeyman Ironworker/ Boilermaker in Canada.  As women in underrepresented, male dominated occupations the duo are well aware of the stereotypes and struggles to fit in and be treated as equals. The Campaign was in an effort to raise awareness and address the need for inclusive working cultures globally.

The red and white polka dot WE Ribbon is currently an awareness piece supports the conversation about the importance of a diverse and equal workplace free from all types of harassment, bullying and discrimination regardless of differences.

Our hope is that one day the WE Ribbon will be recognized globally as a simple statement, identifying an employer supportive of integrating all the core values of what a diverse, equal and inclusive workplace should embrace.

Our goal is to build supportive relationships with individuals, organizations, industry and government to join together in support of the WE Ribbon awareness campaign.

OUR MISSION

To attain global recognition as a signature of endorsement for employers encompassing all the core values of an inclusive work culture.

How it Works

We would invite employers and those interested in supporting the awareness piece of the campaign to become involved. Once you agree to support the campaign you will adopt the WE Ribbon as a workplace awareness piece. We would ask that you make an affordable annual donation to the campaign. (We are not a registered charity; receipts for tax purposes will not be issued)

We will provide a written agreement/contract detailing terms of use, and an authorized copy of the WE Ribbon logo in .pdf format for your use.

Your workplace support of the WE Ribbon continues by providing/selling branded clothing and merchandise supporting the WE Ribbon brand and distributing campaign information.

Employers are expected to promote the WE Ribbon Campaign by participating in the WE Wednesday media campaign providing a minimum of 1 quarterly story per calendar year about how your organization supports Workplace Equality and how it is being implemented into your workplace. These Stories will be shared on social media and the campaign portion of the website.

Your company logo will appear on the campaign supporter portion of our website.
